Model and size
To start with, which scale should be used for a model? There was a beautiful example of a guitar picture in the 1997 CF Martin brochure that I took. It is the D35 model, which makes things easier for me, since I have that guitar. So I can check dimensions in the picture against my D35. The scale of the picture appeared to be 1 : 4.75, which is a bit unusual for modeling. Often a scale of 1 : 6 is used, but this would imply very small parts of the guitar. I redrew the guitar from the picture onto paper, including all relevant dimensions:
Another usefull peace of equipment is a transparent mould with the shape of the body. And soon already it appeared that making a miniature guitar would require the same moulds, equipment and working method as for a real guitar, sometimes even more complicated.
